Father Son bonding... they even coordinated their outfits : ) Garrett was awake and content the whole time Charlie was holding him. I wonder what they think about as they see the world for the very first time.

Eli, snuggling with Aunt Leah after she came home from school. I love that every day we spend with family the boys become more and more comfortable with them. The few days it takes for them to warm up is one of the hardest parts of living away from home.

Charlie is in Washington state for the next 8 days and has our good camera with him, so I'm resorting to videos this week and pictures only when necessary. Here's a cute one of the boys - lovin' on their mommy : )

I love this shot - just kickin back on the couch together. Owen is lounging on Eli's belly... and check out those bulldog cheeks!

A few more cute ones of the boys in their birthday jammies...
Is there anything cuter than a little baby asleep in a big bed?

Our time with Grammy Koslow has gone by too fast! She's going back to Pittsburgh tonight and we probably won't see her again until this summer when Charlie's rotation is over. This is (by far!) the worst part of his job - being far from family and friends while our babies are babies. We LOVE having them visit though, and hope that we can host other family members before we leave Texas too (hint hint!)

Eli and Grandma spending a little quality time together. Dwight and Janet watched the boys so Charlie and I could go on our first date in almost 4 months(!) and we had a great time. We tried out a seafood restaurant called Mitchell's and had the most fantastic dinner. It was made so much better by our waitress who threw in a free appetizer of BBQ shrimp wrapped in bacon and our sodas for free. We got 'the call' and knew that it was time to come home. I could hear Eli crying in the background... and wouldn't you know that I could have predicted what happened. By the time we drove home, Eli was sleeping like a baby. Grandma sure had the touch to calm him down. Thanks for the night out alone Dwight and Janet!

The cuteness doesn't stop! The boys were laying next to each other in the crib, each holding their blankies and linking arms together. At one point, Owen lost his binkie and started licking Puppy's ear. By the time he fell asleep, Puppy's head was completely soaked. Good thing they are machine washable!

We're on our way home for Thanksgiving!!
Gramma Fox has the touch when it comes to calming down a baby. She doesn't jostle them around, she doesn't bounce them or swing them, she just holds them close and they settle into a nice long nap. I'll bet she's thrilled that she's the 'halfway house' on our way to Pittsburgh - she sees the boys more often than anyone else in our family!

The boys cried during their immunizations today, which is certainly to be expected, but trouble didn't really come until mid afternoon. They woke up at the exact same time (which is always a recipe for disaster when I'm home alone) and I could tell that, yes, they were crying out of hunger, but mostly out of sheer pain. I tried to feed them at the same time (another bad idea since they aren't used to eating like that) but the 'football hold' made them lay on the part of their chubby little thighs that were so sore. Eli screamed so hard he was a) sweating b) no longer making sound and c) shaking all over. He was literally shooting tears out of his eyes. The trouble with feeding them at the same time though, is that it restricts movement when the other is still eating (ie - I couldn't walk around to calm him down because Owen was still eating). Eli passed out from total exhaustion and Owen wasn't far behind. I scooped them both up, carried them downstairs and wrapped them up for a nap. Here they are curling into each other on the changing table of the pack n play...

I was downstairs this morning when Charlie heard the boys wake up. They seemed to settle down so I didn't really think much of it. I went upstairs a little while later and discovered that the reason they settled down was because Charlie brought them into our bed for a little early morning cuddle time. Eli fell back asleep, and Owen just enjoyed being that close to his two favorite guys. I can't blame him!

My sister-in-law, Kelly (curly hair), and her best friend Jenn (straight hair) came to help out the past three days. They are born to help with babies! They work together as nurses, which means that they are all about jumping in to help with the dirty work of taking care of babies - diapers, crying fits, feeding...
In addition to the baby assistance, we ate like queens for the past three days! Pumpkin bread, BBQ ribs and potato salad, stuffed banana peppers and cornbread - it was fantastic! I'm just hoping that they are both able to get time off together to come visit again... and soon!

Typical Owen (red): easily distracted by anything that moves or is full of color - in this case, a container of candy corn. He was having none of this picture without the pacifier - full out screaming as soon as it would fall out.
Typical Eli (grey): as soon as you're ready to take the picture, he pukes on himself... hence the stunned-deer-in-the-headlights look. How about those matching double chins!
I can't wait for the day when they'll actually look at the camera and smile when you make funny faces at them. I wonder if it'll be any day now like a typical 6 weeker or if I'll have to wait for 6 weeks after their due date. Time will tell.

A narration, by Owen:
"Stacey and Clinton, from TLCs What Not To Wear, are always recommending a stylish animal print. I wonder if they'd approve of our outfits! I think zebra was the right choice - complimentary yet understated. Eli, wake up!" "Now look what you've done. This has to be more comfortable for you than it is for me."
"Psst... Eli! Look over there, at the camera!"
