I found Mancala at Tuesday Morning and the boys have wanted to play it constantly. It took a You Tube video to really understand it, but even Dylan is a pro now!

Enjoying a little one-on-one time with Dylan after the boys went to Faith but before he had to leave for preschool. He's a Memory addict!

Dylan's new obsession is cutting paper into the smallest possible pieces with scissors. He sits at his little table while the rest of are doing school and snip snip snips the whole piece up. He calls it 'making cards.' Love him : )

Happy 2nd Birthday (party!) to Dylan!! He is obsessed with trains these days so it only made sense to have a train themed party. We had wagon wheel mac n cheese, train jigglers, an a train full of snacks: coal car (chocolate donuts), log car (pretzel rods), produce car (veggies), dairy car (cheese sticks) and a sleeping car (pigs in a blanket!). We also had tri-colored popcorn to match the three main train colors and a train cake that turned out awesome! The kids loved the food/decorations, played trains the whole time, ate up all their cake and spent the rest of the party blowing, er... spilling... their Huff and Puff Bubbles on the porch. Dylan was quite the handsome conductor and promptly passed out after opening his presents!

Owen and Eli's creativity blows me away! They are really into legos, as most kids their age are, but what they love most is 'imaginating' their creations. They can look at a random assortment of pieces and create animals that look amazingly like the real thing. They also love to use the leftover pieces from a set and create 'buddies' - which are usually tiny airplanes, tiny cars, tiny scorpions... whatever they had created from the set on a small size. Here's Eli's T-Rex and Parasauralophus...

My first 10K was the Hotcake Hustle in Addison, TX. My goal was to run it in under a hour and I succeeded - official time was 58:35. My average pace was around 9:15, and though I beat my goal, I know I can do better the next time. I was definitely nervous going into this race but now I have the confidence I need going into the next one. The Cowtown 10K in Fort Worth is twoard the end of February and I can't wait! Since the race I'm up to 8 miles, so a 10K is small potatoes ; )

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
This Christmas morning was fun, relaxing and really enjoyable. We were woken up by a parade of little boys who assured us the night before that they would come get us before even going downstairs to see the presents. I think they were nervous that they wouldn't be ale to control themselves! So we woke Dylan up and headed down to the Christmas tree to start on stockings. They were filled with little things like fun cereal pouches, yogurt raisins, snack bags, super hero socks, Imaginext super hero men, early readers (about Superman... noticing a pattern?!), and they were so excited about everything they pulled out! We had a take a break in the middle to charge our camera battery and again after we finished stockings, but that just forced us to go slow, enjoy the moment, play with what was in the stockings and eat breakfast! It was perfect. After breakfast we opened presents - it was a lego and super hero themed morning! Even Dylan got Duplo blocks : ) We spent the rest of the day playing with new toys, assembling lego sets, napping, and watching new movies that they got for Christmas. Sword in the Stone is a new favorite! We were with friends for dinner and the evening, exchanged gifts with them and headed home content and thankful for a wonderful, healthy Christmas. Since we had all been sick leading right up to Christmas Eve, it was especially nice to feel better. What a great day!
