March 7 - 11, 2011
There's been good reason for the lack of posting this week... the boys are pretty much potty trained!!! We took a break a few weeks ago when only Owen was interested (but kept having tons of accidents) and then on Tuesday, Eli just decided that he was going to use the potty. End of story. There have been a few accidents here and there, but they are both excited to wear 'skivvies' and will put themselves on the potty without prompting. We've gone out 2-3 times and they stayed dry the whole time! It still makes me pretty nervous, but I'm slowly gaining confidence right along with them. We're learning how to read the signs together, but all in all, this week has been a smashing success! We're so SO proud of Owen and Eli!!!

First day with skivvies! We have since (briefly) postponed the all-out potty training, but how cute is Owen?!

Potty Training 101 begins today! Owen seems to be ready so we're going for it! I have found that the most effective way to go through the day is diaperless but with easy-on-easy-off pants. That way, he's not tempted to pee in the diaper, yet if he has an accident it doesn't go all over the carpet. The problem is that he has such a little booty that without a diaper, his pants all fall down : ) We'll see how this goes!

We bought three news Cars cars for Owen and Eli as their 'potty presents' for after they poop on the potty for the first time. They are pretty good with peeing (if this is TMI, just stop reading!) and get two fruit snacks when they pee, but I thought this would be the motivation they needed to try pooping. They keep asking me to open them, and the MO is 'this car is your prize for pooping on the potty. As soon as you poop, you get a NEW RACE CAR!" They are trying, but with no luck so far. They seem to be settling for playing with the cars in the boxes since we can't open them yet : )
