HAPPY EASTER!!
One year ago we were celebrating Eli's decision to ask Jesus into his heart, and today we did the same for Owen!! He had been talking about it for a few weeks, but as Easter came closer he decided that he wanted to light his candle on Easter Sunday. We couldn't be more thankful and more proud of his decision!
After church we headed home for Easter baskets and family time, then the Golz's came over for our last 'family' holiday together. We've been celebrating Thanksgiving and Easter together for almost five years and we are so sad that this was our last one! These kids have gone from babies (or non-existent!) when we started to full-blown big kids!!

This was favorite Valentine's Day EVER!! I received these two cards - in the mail! - the day before, so I knew they had big things planned for the day. Owen and I went to Natchez Trace and ran a couple miles together, then he me to Braum's for ice cream, and he paid! We sat outside the restaurant and ate ice cream together and just talked about life : )
Then I had almost a full afternoon to myself while Charlie took Eli grocery shopping and they prepped dinner. He came up to my room in his dress clothes and invited me to the Eli Cafe, he escorted me down the stairs, read me the menu, brought a color page and colored pencils to keep me and his brothers busy while they plated the first course, and then he carried the courses in and out of the dining room, being the perfect gentleman the whole time. Caesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs, grilled bread, lots of Italian desserts, Italian symphony music and all my favorite boys. What a special night!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Last year our theme of the evening was Up and we had all sorts of food to go along with the theme. Well, this year it took the boys awhile to choose their movie, but they finally settled on Brave, which none of us had ever seen so I had no idea what to do for the food. But we thought, Brave? What takes more bravery than sushi! Owen and Eli really liked it, but Garrett and Dylan wouldn't try it. We played games, talked about goals for the year, watched the movie, ate ice cream sundaes and talked about the new year starting (though none of us made it to midnight!)

Happy Mother's Day!!
My five favorite boys in the whole world made me breakfast, drew me cards, let me go for a run, sprprised me with flowers and new running equipment (LED lights so I can be safely seen and a new smaller water bottle). I'm so lucky, I really am : )

HAPPY EASTER!
This Easter will forever be a special one in our family because it's the day that Eli chose to ask Jesus to live in his heart! He has been thinking and talking about it a lot lately, then on the way to church on Good Friday he told us that he wanted to 'light a red candle' on Easter. That's our church's way of recognizing a new believer's faith in Christ. We walked to the alter as a family (minus Dylan) and he prayed that Jesus would live in his heart and thanked Him for dying on the cross for our sins. I didn't expect it to hit me as hard as it did, but tears streamed down my face to hear my little boy put his trust in his Savior. Now he's not only our son but our brother in Christ!
The rest of the day was filled with Easter baskets and egg hunts, friends, food and celebrating. What a wonderful day!

Oh boy, how New Years Eve has changed now that we have bigger kids! This year we watched Up and had a movie themed night - yummy food, coloring pages, flying photos, jello cloud dessert cups and baby cupcakes. They didn't quite make it to midnight (thankfully!) but it was really fun hanging out together as a family ringing in the New Year!
