Can you tell Dylan didn't get enough sleep during the campout?! He fell asleep while watching Curious George! Unheard of!

Dylan must have had a little too much excitement during Grammy and Pappy's trip... he fell asleep on the couch during a kids show. That's unheard of!!

Poor Dylan. So tired but having such a hard time napping without his paci. We took it away August 26 and he's asked for it every day since (and in hindsight since posting this, he asked for it every day for almost three weeks). While he was supposed to be napping in his room, the rest of us were doing school. I thought I heard something so I went up, expecting to find him playing in his room. Instead, he was out cold in the hallway!

Yes, that is a tiny tiny Batman in his hand. All boy, even while sleeping : )

Moments like this are few and far between these days. I can't remember the last time Dylan slept on either one of us, but he just couldn't last another minute on the drive home from church. Charlie brought him in the house and he stayed asleep, so he laid down hoping for the best. Dylan slept on him for over an hour! Sweet, sleepy little boy : )

Once you get to the fourth kid you start to realize that you take a lot of similar pictures, which is kinda fun because then you can compare one kid to another. These two are of Dylan and Eli - brothers for sure!

Our first day in Michigan was a tiring one! After a morning of flying, missing naps and playing hard with their cousins, Owen and Eli crashed out (in some pretty funny positions!)

Water babies: Garrett and Jonas

A highlight of visiting other people's houses: playing with all new toys!

Starting the pictures from our trip to Shepherd of the Ozarks Family Camp a few days early. There are just too many pictures to get through in six days!

Little Garrett... such a trooper on trips. I wouldn't like sleeping in a pack n play (which is basically a plywood mattress!) either, but I'm not crazy about how a 20 pound child can take up an entire bed by himself!

Garrett is, by far, the lightest sleeper we have. So to capture those adorable sleeping baby pics, I'll have to settle for the baby monitor : )

Owen is all about not sleeping in a bed these days...

Just ONE of the HUNDREDS of reasons I don't understand why people say they would never want twins...

It's funny to think about how much I stressed about putting the boys in big boy beds since they prefer to sleep on the floor!

September 24, 2010

I was catching up on my DVRd shows and Garrett was asleep on my shoulder. The boys were already in bed and I was waiting for Charlie to come home from his week away. I laid him down on the couch and turned around to look at him, wide awake, just looking around.

Loving this soft, squishy, cuddly little man...

In many ways, Garrett is the complete opposite of the boys. For one, there's only one of him, so I'm a little less scheduled with his eating/sleeping patterns than I had to be (for sanity's sake) with the boys. He also hates being swaddled, which we learned the second night we were home with him. He just wants to spread out and be able to move around, much different than the boys who needed to be swaddled for at least the first four months of their lives. The one thing they have in common is that they are/were champion newborn sleepers...
