HAPPY EASTER!!

One year ago we were celebrating Eli's decision to ask Jesus into his heart, and today we did the same for Owen!! He had been talking about it for a few weeks, but as Easter came closer he decided that he wanted to light his candle on Easter Sunday. We couldn't be more thankful and more proud of his decision!

After church we headed home for Easter baskets and family time, then the Golz's came over for our last 'family' holiday together. We've been celebrating Thanksgiving and Easter together for almost five years and we are so sad that this was our last one! These kids have gone from babies (or non-existent!) when we started to full-blown big kids!!

HAPPY EASTER!

This Easter will forever be a special one in our family because it's the day that Eli chose to ask Jesus to live in his heart! He has been thinking and talking about it a lot lately, then on the way to church on Good Friday he told us that he wanted to 'light a red candle' on Easter. That's our church's way of recognizing a new believer's faith in Christ. We walked to the alter as a family (minus Dylan) and he prayed that Jesus would live in his heart and thanked Him for dying on the cross for our sins. I didn't expect it to hit me as hard as it did, but tears streamed down my face to hear my little boy put his trust in his Savior. Now he's not only our son but our brother in Christ!

The rest of the day was filled with Easter baskets and egg hunts, friends, food and celebrating. What a wonderful day!

Charlie is interviewing in Seattle right now so he couldn't be with us for Ash Wednesday. The boys wanted to make sure that he saw that they 'got ashed'.

It's Easter! And my family is here! I'm not sure it gets much better than that : ) We started the morning with church, but after we came home Elise and Kirk headed to Urgent Care for her wrist. While they were one Charlie and I made Resurrection Rolls with the boys and painted wooden Easter eggs. Once we were all back together again the hid Easter baskets and they made out like bandits! In fairness, we didn't exchange Christmas presents so we made Easter an extra big deal - loads of treats in their baskets and a toy for everyone. Several family friends came over for dinner in the late afternoon. It was a great day, one of my favorites all year. Happy Easter everyone, He is Risen!!

HAPPY EASTER!

Easter is my favorite holiday. It never ceases to amaze me that Christ died for my sins and rose again to conquer death. He is alive!

We had a great day, starting things off with taking Owen and Eli into 'big church' with us. They did great! We came home and Charlie made a fantastic bacon and eggs breakfast, then we hid and found Easter baskets. The big highlights were ocean themed pjs, books about sharks and other animals and a Disney Ocean DVD from my mom. You can't overlook the sugar too - always a big hit : )

We planted our first garden that afternoon (pictures to come) and had friends over for dinner and an egg hunt that evening. I hope y'all had a great day celebrating the fact that Christ is Risen!

Mom, this video is for you!
(I love how Eli takes off running after he sees what's in his basket! This kid LOVES sharks!)
