My grandma's annual trip to OKC to visit her twin sister, Aunt Lois, was this past week. Thankfully, they always make the drive down to spend the day with us! We went to Culver's for lunch and then to the Flower Mound pumpkin patch for a tractor ride, bounce houses and weather that was way too hot for October! We spent the afternoon playing Qwirkle before they hit the road again. Great visit!

Our morning at the Pumpkin Patch was so much fun! We rode the barrel train and the tractor, jumped in bouncy houses and checked out all the pumpkins. What a great day!

Practicing for Halloween...

We actually got this Peter Pan costume for Asher, but Owen sure liked wearing it!

We met a new friend last week in our neighborhood - Andrea and her daughter Adelyn. We met up with them at the Pumpkin Patch today and had a great time. Slightly crazy, trying to keep track of three toddlers and a baby, but it was a perfect morning and so much fun! We went on a tractor ride and walked through pumpkins and even caught a couple really cute pictures. First three pictures are Owen, Owen, Eli, last picture is Eli.

We can't wait for Thanksgiving this year, and we're counting down the days until we leave for Pittsburgh - only 2 weeks to go!! We have so much to be thankful for this year, our little turkeys especially!

Charlie and I took the boys on our first overnight road trip this weekend to visit his Grandma in Lancaster County, PA. They slept the entire drive to and from Lancaster (which was about 4 hours, plus a one hour stop to feed them) and did a great job while we were there. They got to meet a few more members of Charlie's family and we were able to enjoy a relaxing time in a corner of the country where it seems that time almost stands still. It was a great trip and a good way to ease into traveling with babies. Grandma, on the left, has Eli in the grey. Great Aunt Mary has Owen in the red.

Uncle Dan loved having babies around too and dove right into holding the boys. Eli wasn't so sure at first, but Uncle Dan won him over.

Today was a GREAT day! Charlie and I took the boys on a day trip around the area to local orchards and pumpkin patches and they did a fantastic job all day long. It was the perfect way to initiate ourselves with road trips with twins. I have to say though - it is not for the faint of heart! It takes way more energy than we would have expected, and you become like the bodyguards of pseudo-celebrities. Everyone wants to see the babies! We must have answered 20 times today how much they weighed when they were born, how old they are, whether or not they are identical, if they are boys or girls (they were tucked deep into the baby bjorns and you couldn't really tell) and how life is going so far. We were wished lots of luck and God's blessings told to brace ourselves for the ride ahead. We're loving it so far!

First we met up with our friends, the Harley's, at a pumpkin patch across the NY state line. It was a small, Christian-run, local patch with free hayrides out to the pumpkins. We picked two small ones for the boys and one larger one so we could make pumpkin seeds. Afterwards, we stopped by a harvest festival in one of the cutest little streamside towns we've ever seen.

We finished the day with an orchard here in Danbury with homemade apple cidar donuts that we bought for breakfast tomorrow. They were in and out of the baby bjorns and carseats all day and slept through just about all of it. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we are so thankful for the time together as a family.
