My first painting class at Art in the Vine was so much fun! I wasn't crazy about the image, but I really like how she turned out, and I loved that the instructor let us personalize the colors. I'm going to miss these girls when we move to NC!

Camping with the Trail Life group at Bonham State Park. It was gorgeous during the day and absolutely freezing at night. It was a great weekend of hiking, playing in the sandpit, paddleboating, Owen and Eli having the courage to perform in a skit and spending time with lots of friends.

HAPPY EASTER!!

One year ago we were celebrating Eli's decision to ask Jesus into his heart, and today we did the same for Owen!! He had been talking about it for a few weeks, but as Easter came closer he decided that he wanted to light his candle on Easter Sunday. We couldn't be more thankful and more proud of his decision!

After church we headed home for Easter baskets and family time, then the Golz's came over for our last 'family' holiday together. We've been celebrating Thanksgiving and Easter together for almost five years and we are so sad that this was our last one! These kids have gone from babies (or non-existent!) when we started to full-blown big kids!!

We did it!! We sold our house!!

Long story short, we wanted to sell to our friends, the Fryes, but they hadn't sold theirs yet and we already had a contract on one in North Carolina, so we kinda needed to lock down the details on ours. We both listed on Friday, March 11, both had lots of showings, both had a showing on Sunday night (the 20th) and both had strong interest from that showing. Our people had their agent call ours on Sunday night to talk timing details and assured us that an offer was coming on Monday.

Wellllll, Monday came and went and we didn't hear anything. Our agent called theirs on Tuesday morning and it turned out that they hadn't gotten a pre-approval letter first, so they were waiting on their bank before they could submit. While we were waiting, the Fryes got a cash offer on theirs, so we could sign with them afterall! Our offer came in four hours after theirs. Crazy to think that if our people would have had their ducks in a row that we would have likely accepted their offer - then regretted it a day later! God is in the details of our lives for sure!!

January's Girls Night was a Beer and Girl Scout Cookie Pairing Night! Who would have thought it was such a tasty combination?! The Thin Mint was especially good dunked in the stout it was paired with ; )

We went to a burger joint after the cookie tasting - this one was a bust - thankfully the burger was awesome!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2015!!

Our 5th Annual Thanksgiving Day with the Golz' is in the books! We've been getting together since Garrett was only about 16 months old and now we've got seven kids from three to eight years old! These sweet friends are so special to us and we love this Thanksgiving tradition... especially this year when it seemed that all the kids were (finally) self sufficient and could play on their own while we visited, drank wine and ate our bake brie in peace ; ) Friends who are like family is one of the top things we're thankful for!!

November 14, 2015

Our small group went camping in Dinosaur Valley State Park... and it was freezing! Lows in the 40s overnight, overcast during the day. Yikes! But it was still really fun! We got there Friday night just in time to set up the tent and get the fire going before it got dark. We cooked dinner, hung out around the fire, tried to stay warm and headed to bed. Dylan had a really rough night of coughing so I ended up putting him in Charlie's car to sleep so he wouldn't disturb the rest of the boys. Saturday met us with a very chilly morning. We started off for a hike, but Dylan, the Geurin's and I turned back when Landon fell in the super cold water. Dylan and Carter would have never made it. So we had lots of down time while the others explored around, then made a great fajita dinner on the fire, ate smores, played with glowsticks and headed in for another chilly night. It seemed warmer, but Garrett woke up crying that he was cold (and uncovered) and Owen was awake for over an hour with croup. So he and I spent some time outside in the cold air getting him to breathe normally again. Rough night of camping!
