We made it to Dallas! The flight was a little hairy at times (since Eli cried for about half of it!) but we're here safe and sound now. I think the altitude hurt Eli's ears and that's why he couldn't sleep, but he also just wanted to be held the whole time. It's a good thing we had seats for all of us (and didn't count on the boys being lap-babies for the flight) because they never would have slept if that was the case and it would have been almost impossible to settle Eli down while being crammed into the seats. The flight attendents checked the roster and saw that the flight wasn't booked, so we were able to move into the last row and use all SIX seats for the four of us! They were also really nice to us - giving us more drinks than the other passengers and free headsets to listen to the movies (yeah right, like we could relax and watch a movie!).Owen slept for the entire flight. He was out before we took off and we woke him up to feed him after we got to the hotel... almost six hours later!
Eli finally crashed out for the second half of the flight, praise God! I'm not sure how many other passengers could hear him crying since we were in the last row and the engines were pretty loud, but it's hard to relax when you feel like you're disturbing other people.
Now that their first plane ride is over and done with, I can't say that Charlie or I are in the mood to take their second trip any time soon!
