Our trip to San Antonio was awesome (except for forgetting our camera there)! We had heard from so many people that it's a great city, so we had to see it for ourselves. We stayed with Matt & Julie, friends that Charlie went to college with, and that itself made the trip worth it. It's always great to catch up with old friends, especially when it feels like time has stopped in the, oh, 6 years since we've seen each other.
On Saturday, we checked the weather (which said 30% chance of rain) and headed to the River Walk, which felt like a mix between the Venetian in Vegas and Europe. It was beautiful! We went to a great Mexican place for lunch and the heavens opened. I'm talking rain like we haven't seen on this side of the flood. 30% chance... ha! We extended our lunch to try and wait out the rain with no luck - it didn't stop all day. So we wrapped the boys up in garbage bags in their stroller and headed to the Alamo. The sign inside says "This is a shrine, please be quiet." Well, with three kids one and under, it wasn't the place for us... but it was pretty cool to see. We spent the rest of the day back at Matt & Julie's house, grilling out and catching up.
