Plane rides are so much easier with two parents present! For the four hour flight, Owen played the entire time and Eli took about a 30 minute nap, but they were both really interested in looking out the windows and playing with the 'toys' that the flight attendants made for them (plastic cups filled with pretzels and peanuts with a lid). It's amazing what will keep them occupied! Because they were 'lap babies' and we didn't buy them seats, we checked their carseats at the ticket counter, which was a huge mistake. The flight was only about 1/3 full and there were plenty of extra seats. If we would have kept their seats, they probably would have slept the whole time. Oh well, at least they weren't crying.
This turned out to be a pretty nice family photo op! As we zoom in (see below), check out the boys' hands. Adorable!

Glad it went so well for you!! Maybe next time you could plan on bringing the seats to the gate and asking at the gate whether there are extra seats. If so, you can bring the carseats on, and if not, you can just gate check them! Of course, acording to murphy's law, if you bring the carseats with you, then there will definitely not be any extra seats on the flight:-) Oh well. Enjoy your time in PGH!
