We woke up this morning at 4:30 to the sound of Owen, wheezing and barking like a seal. Overnight, his cold developed into croup, which has constricted his airways to the point of not being able to breathe. I took him to the doctor this morning to make sure there wasn't anything else wrong and to get some steroids for his airways, and brought this video with me just in case he didn't demonstrate his breathing for the doctor. He did, by the way... it wasn't pretty. Ever since he had RSV and broncialitis as a baby, a cold always develops into something much worse for his respiratory system. Poor guy. Eli has had the same cold since Monday, though he seems to be getting by with just a bad cough and a very runny nose. Doc says both still have beautiful lungs and ears, so that's at least a little good news.

oh poor little Owen!!! Riley's colds always go to her lungs/chest since she had bronchiolitis too. This 'sick season' she's doing breathing treatments with the steroid everyday twice a day. We hope to keep that girl well! Reese handles colds much better- like Eli. HOpe everyone feels better soon!!!
