On Sunday morning we headed towards Mesa Verde National Park. It was a LONG drive up a very steep mountain to get to the visitors center - and it was cold and windy at the top. We thought that we would squeeze in a short hike, but thought otherwise after realizing that it would be miserable for the boys (and for us!). We ended up just looking at the ruins, which were really cool and much more expansive than the ruins at Canyon de Chelly. There were some great options for hikes that sounded adventurous and awesome, but we decided that the overlook was our best option this time around.

On the long drive out of the park, Owen had had enough. As I was making them a PB&J sandwich, he started nodding off to sleep. I put a piece of sandwich in his hand and he kept his eyes closed as he started to eat it. Even that was too much for him, because he fell sound asleep mid-bite - snoring and all!
