We took my parents to Petrified Forest/Painted Desert National Park to see the beauty of the southwest. The last time we were there it was open until 6:00, but it closed at 5:00, which left us only a little over an hour to see the whole park. We repeated the Crystal Forest trail that we hiked the first time we were there and it was just as beautiful. The sun was setting over the Painted Desert just as we were leaving and the colors were so many vibrant shades of pink.
