April 8, 2010

You're going to read this post and think that I'm either a) crazy or b) a really good mom for little boys!

To continue our 'green and nature theme' for Tot School, we planted wildflowers with the boys. They are actually Hummingbird and Butterfly Garden seeds, so hopefully in 2-3 weeks we'll have something interesting to watch out the window. We decided to plant the seeds in the living room on the laminate floor because a) it's easy to sweep up, b) the boys throw a ridiculous fit when you bring them in from inside and it was almost bath time, and c) we're only renting ; )

They were so excited to watch the soil pellet turn into dirt... and I have to admit that I thought it was pretty darn cool too. We scooped the seeds into the pots and covered them with our shovels and spoons. After that, it was time to play in the dirt!

Looks innocent enough for now, but as soon as that first shovelful of dirt hit the ground, all bets were off!

We knew playtime was over when Owen started to obsess over the fact that he had dirt on his feet. Strip down, toss in the tub and sweep up the mess. Easy peasy : )
