We drove into Hot Springs for the day to see the town, but we picked this day because you can watch the workers feed the alligators! The hungry ones were pretty feisty, but we learned that an alligator can go two years without eating. Go figure! They fatten them up all during the summer so they can hibernate in the winter, and the hotter it is outside, the more they want to eat. We could hold the baby gators (less than 4 years old) and feed the goats too. Owen and Eli loved the little baby goats but were terrified of the bigger goats. I can't really blame them - I was a little spooked by the bigger ones too! They kept trying to chew our shorts a
nd head butt us. Not exactly mild mannered! Owen and Eli are still talking about watching the alligators eat chicken for lunch : )
