This week for the Letter W, we learned about weather, whales and watermelon. It gave us a pretty wide assortment of activities and books to read, plus Eli especially is big into ocean animals right now, so the whales were right up his alley. I wanted to capture the differences between Owen and Eli artistically because I think the drastic difference is so funny. The first picture is how they both approach color-by-number pages. In the second, I gave them each a tree that symbolized a season and asked them to draw a picture of what they might do in that season. Owen colored the grass green, the dirt and branches brown and then drew a person walking in the leaves. Eli turned his paper over and drew a 'watermelon machine' on the back. Crazy kids! Garrett's is the far right scribble : ) The watermelon paper plate craft is for the art wall in the playroom. Only three more letters to go!
